The Techtextil Innovation Awards 2019 were just handed out and Trendease was there to follow up with a number of award recipients, such as Picasso, which won for its sustainable solution in natural dyeing processes. The dyes are based on extracts from plants and mushrooms; in this video we see examples with tea leaves. Picasso is a joint venture between the Centre for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials (CeNTI), the Tintex sustainable textiles company, spice and herb producer Ervital, biotech company Bioinvitro Biotecnologia, and the CITEVE textile technology center.
